The City of Azusa will host its 4th Annual Outdoor Recreation & Eco-Fair, a free community event to celebrate Earth Month with outdoor recreational activities and entertainment for families of all ages on April 12 from Noon to 3:00pm at Memorial Park. New this year, families can continue the adventure with a Family Campout, an overnight experience for registered participants, happening after the fair from April 12 -13.
The community event will highlight outdoor activities from “Canyon to Coast” and will commence with an Arbor Day Celebration and tree-planting. Attendees can then enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, including rock climbing, euro-jump, electric bumper boats, live music, free food, and giveaways. The event will feature engaging exhibits from local organizations such as the National Forest Foundation will showcase its projects and programs dedicated to protecting and restoring public lands, while the Cougar Conservancy will provide valuable resources to help the community safely coexist with local wildlife. The San Dimas Canyon Mountain Rescue Team will offer interactive demonstrations, including first aid training, knot-tying techniques, and essential hiking safety tips, along with a display of their specialized winch truck. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Fire Forestry Division will educate visitors on fire prevention strategies, helping to promote awareness and preparedness for wildfire safety.
Other local organizations aiming to inspire, connect, the community to the outdoors include: San Dimas Canyon Nature Center; Azusa Light & Water; Pomona Valley Audubon Society; Nature For All; Outward Bound Adventures Inc.; Azusa Beautiful; Azusa Library; Angeles National Forest; North East Trees; Stillwater Sciences; Sierra Club; Healthy Footprints Adventure Community; Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles; Cub Scout Pack 777; Conservation Corps of Long Beach: LA River Rangers; Citrus College; Azusa Woman’s Club; Azusa Pacific University; Athens Services; and many more!
