This weekend, AEW will present one of its biggest pay-per-view events of the year. On Saturday, Nov. 18, AEW presents Full Gear 2023 live from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The annual fall event will feature big title matches and grudge bouts. The main event of the show will feature MJF defending his AEW World Championship against Jay White. This will come after he defends the Ring of Honor (ROH) World Tag Team Championships on the Zero Hour kickoff show with a mystery partner against The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn). Then there are other anticipated bouts, such as Orange Cassidy defending the AEW International Championship against Jon Moxley, "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland in a Texas Death match, Sting, Copeland, and Allin facing Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne in a trios match, and so much more. AEW consistently delivers with their PPV events, but the build to those shows is regularly tepid at best. Same thing with this year's Full Gear event. Tony Khan has booked some strong matches for the show including Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland and the trios match with Team Sting & Edge against Team Christian Cage. In what has become "classic AEW" these days, there have also been some head scratcher builds like what we've seen between The Golden Jets and The Young Bucks, as well as Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy. The show is anchored by a more than suitable main event with MJF defending his AEW World Championship against Jay White. Even that match, though, has it's share of confusing details and nonsense to wade through on the road to what inevitably will be a strong match. This has been the best built match on the card by a wide margin. Page and Strickland have really strong chemistry together and it feels like both truly want to beat the other one to vicious pulp.
