P3 Theatre Company presents Becoming Austin Nation: From Crack to PhD, a Drag Queen’s Story
Written and performed by Austin Nation, this autobiographical solo show traces his extraordinary journey from an HIV diagnosis at 26 and the devastating loss of friends during the AIDS crisis to crack addiction, recovery and earning a PhD. With humor, honesty and heart, Nation shares his story of survival, identity and self-discovery while transforming before the audience into his drag persona, A’Freeka Nature. Using little more than a mirror, chair and clothing rack, Nation delivers a deeply personal, theatrical celebration of resilience, reinvention and living life unapologetically.
