Mariana Arroja, an acclaimed singer, composer, and producer from Portugal, stands out as one of the most versatile artists of her generation. Renowned for her soulful performances and considered the embodiment of "Saudade," she skillfully incorporates diverse elements of World Music into her creations.
Pia Salvia, a renowned harpist/singer from Belgium now based in Los Angeles, embarked on her musical journey at the age of 6, undergoing rigorous classical training for a decade. Inspired to redefine the harp's role in music, Salvia became a trailblazer, incorporating classical harp into diverse musical styles. Her compositions, arrangements, and performances showcase the harp's versatility in various settings.
This evening also pays homage to Maria Lucien, a Portuguese woman who played a role in introducing Brazilian music to New York and Los Angeles. The era of "Samba e Saudade" stands out as a remarkable period. Let's come together once more and relive those cherished moments.
