Artist Walk & Talk with Leah Knecht
Join artist Leah Knecht for a free guided Walk & Talk through her solo exhibition, Step 2: The Progression, at ace/121 Gallery. As she leads visitors through the exhibition, Knecht will share the inspiration, creative process, and personal stories behind her layered mixed-media sculptures and assemblages made primarily from reclaimed vintage windows and doors.
Drawing from her experience as a Japanese American artist of biracial heritage, the exhibition explores identity, belonging, exclusion, resilience, and the lasting impact of racism, immigration, and history. Through conversation and close looking, visitors will gain deeper insight into the ideas that shape her work while engaging in meaningful dialogue about the connections between past and present.
The Walk & Talk takes place Saturday, July 25 at 2:00pm at ace/121 Gallery in Glendale. Admission is free. RSVPs encouraged, but not required, at ace121gallery.com. The exhibition remains on view through August 8.
