California Young Artists Symphony Concert
The program begins with Ippolitov-Ivanov’s “Caucasian Sketches”, inspired by the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Caucasus Mountain region, followed by Mozart’s dark and dramatic Concerto in c-minor k.491 performed by David Kaplan (praised by the Boston Globe for “grace and fire” at the keyboard). The program closes with the monumental “Rite of Spring” by Igor Stravinsky, one of the most complex and intricate works for symphony orchestra. CYAS will be led by maestro Alexander Tseitlin (CYAS Director).
CYAS was launched in the fall of 2021 to the acclaim of audiences and artists nationwide. With musicians from institutions such as the Colburn Conservatory, the Thornton School of Music at USC, and the Herb Alpert School at UCLA (among many others), CYAS forms an electrifying ensemble rich in energy and expression.
