Create intricate Mexican folk art out of cut tissue paper.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, come learn how to make papel picado- the traditional Mexican artform of cutting delicate paper with sharp blades or chisels.
We will learn about the history and the purpose of papel picado, and then we will use scissors and Xacto knife blades to create intricate designs in tissue paper. You can display the art on your wall, or link many together to make a banner.
All materials will be provided, and no experience is needed.
