Arkansas Women In STEM Research And Zine Workshop (Registration Recommended)
Learn about Arkansas women in STEM and make a zine in this FREE workshop inspired by the book Hidden Figures!
Learn how to research for, design, and construct an original zine celebrating an Arkansas woman in STEM! Join archivist Jamie and educator Susannah as we explore the rich history of zines and uncover stories of real women from Arkansas who made history in the field of science, tech, engineering or math. We will have coffee, donuts, educational resources and plenty of groovy craft supplies. You'll leave with a handmade zine, some new skills, and hopefully excitement to keep learning history and amplifying women's stories. What are you waiting for? Come out to Laman and learn something new with us!
Registration is appreciated, but not required, to help us make sure we have donuts and supplies for everyone.
This event is part of One Community, One Book, a celebration of the book Hidden Figures. Join us from February 17th to March 21st for events exploring math, science, Black and women's history, and the Space Race.
