"Built from Within" Art Demonstrations During Argenta 3rd Friday Art Walk at NLR Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub is powered by artists, makers, and educators — and this month, we're celebrating the creativity that lives inside our own walls. Join us for Built from Within, an exhibition featuring artwork created by the talented staff who teach, build, support, and inspire our community every day. Alongside the gallery exhibition, several staff members will be offering live demonstrations throughout the evening. Stop in, wander the studios, ask questions, and see creativity in motion: Live Demonstrations | 5:00–7:30 PM 🟤 The Story in Wood with Adam Kittrell Watch a found wood stump transform into a block print, capturing tree ring patterns that become foundations for collage, textiles, and mixed media. 🧵 From Fiber to Form with Lauren Bradley Experience wheel spinning and knitting techniques that turn raw fiber into expressive yarn and hand-crafted pieces. 📚 Little Books, Big Ideas with Marissa Gregory Discover the playful storytelling potential of mini zines — handmade pocket-sized books filled with sketches, collage, and imagination. 🎭 The Faces We Wear with Ben Watson See flat cardboard reimagined into dimensional, wearable masks through cutting, folding, and sculptural construction. ✨ Card as Catalyst with Tammie Evans Learn how Tarot imagery can be used as creative prompts to spark narrative and character development — focused on storytelling, not divination. 🪡 The Geometry of Cloth with Cindy Alvarez Watch quilted star coasters take shape on the sewing machine, where pattern, color, and structure meet in functional textile design. 🟣 Sculpting Character in Clay with Natalie Madison Explore how personality and texture emerge in small-scale ceramic sculpture using both traditional and unexpected tools. 🎨 Print & Play: Stamp Make + Take with Megan Trout Try your hand at block printing and linocut techniques in this hands-on demo designed for artists of all ages. Create your own print to take home. 🧷 Patches, Prints & Personal Style with Kendle Carter Explore DIY clothing and tote customization using patches, studs, screen printing, and more — a celebration of wearable self-expression. 🪡Loop by Loop - Needle Hooking with Rebecca Chavers Be greeted with warmth — and fiber art in motion.
