The Little Rock Winds presents its 27th annual Flag Day concert on Sunday, June 9th at 7 p.m. in historic MacArthur Park at 503 E. 9th Street in downtown Little Rock.
This FREE old-fashioned concert in the park features marches, patriotic songs, and pop tunes. The concert kicks off with the Presentation of Colors by the Little Rock Air Force Base Honor Guard; the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem performed by Little Rock Winds under the direction of associate conductor Michael Chance. Military veterans and active members will be recognized as the band performs the service songs of all the U.S. Armed Forces.
This Flag Day celebration concert promises to be a night of community, music, and remembrance. Bring your friends and family, pack a picnic, and let the kids run around while enjoying an evening of live music in the heart of Little Rock.
During the concert, there will be a silent auction of the conductor’s baton. Up for bid is the opportunity to conduct the band’s performance of Sleigh Ride during the Christmas concert on December 5, 2024.
The celebration is sponsored by Stone Bank, MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History and Little Rock Parks and Recreation. Blue Bell Creameries will provide free ice cream and Woodmen Life will provide free hand-held flags to wave. Central Arkansas Water will provide free ice water for filling your water bottle.
The performance will be held on the old parade ground behind the museum. A designated handicap drop-off will be available on the east parking lot near the parade ground. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and may bring picnic baskets.
The concert will be canceled if it rains.
Admission is free for the concert as well as for the museum. Donations accepted.
