Archazia's Island Pack Rush Tournament

PACK RUSH: - Start by deciding who goes first - Open TWO packs: you can look at the cards, or open the boosters flap-side up, keep the cards face-down, and let them be a surprise - more on that later - Set aside the two marketing or puzzle cards - Shuffle the cards together from both packs to make your deck - Just like Draft and Sealed, there are no ink restrictions! - Draw 5 cards for your starting hand (instead of the usual 7). You can still alter your hand at the beginning of each game - Add the marketing or puzzle cards to your inkwell. You start the game with 2 ink, and you can play a third ink from your hand on Turn 1! From there you'll play the game as normal, with two differences: 1. The first player to reach 15 lore wins, instead of 20 2. If you need to draw cards and there are none left in your deck, shuffle your discard and use it as your new deck For such a simple and scaled down game mode, Pack Rush sets out to achieve a lot: it's a small format with big goals. For new players it's a great way to get a first taste of the game: two booster packs is a low barrier to entry, and the actual gameplay's very quick - much faster than playing a full game with two Starter Decks. Pack Rush isn't as complete of an experience as something like Gateway, but it can give a newbie the basics and make them feel excited to learn more. ENTRY: $25 - Entry covers 6 packs, prize for participation is the special Pack Rush promo PLAY FORMAT: - Each player is provided with a set of unopened booster packs from which they will build their deck each round (6 Packs Total) - Only two packs will be opened each round to play with - Cards from previous round's packs will not be allowed - Swiss Style Tournament, 1 Matches / Round - 3 Rounds, 50 mins: When time is called there will be 5 turns allowed to finish the game or draw.
