Civic Celebrates!
The Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville invites music lovers of all ages to a performance on December 9th from 5-6 p.m. at St Pauls By The Sea 465 11 Ave N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250
The concert program, titled “Civic Celebrates!” will last around one hour and feature beloved Holiday works including: Leroy Anderson’s lively & cheerful Sleigh Ride, Pugh’s jazzy A Charlie Brown Christmas with original compositions from American pianist and composer, Vince Guaraldi, Concert Suite from Polar Express to help tap into the child in all of us and the spirit of the season. The concert will also feature new to us composers like Hutchinson’s A Carol Christmas that expresses the spirit of joy and Curry’s A Kwanzaa Celebration to help honor the 7 principals of Kwanzaa and Holcome's Festive Sounds of Hanukkah that features a medley of loved Hanukkah favorites like Rock of Ages, Spin Dreidel, and Hanukkah O Hanukkah.
About Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville
Now in its eight season, the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville is a true example of a community-driven collaboration. Conducted by Dr. Marguerite Richardson, its 70 volunteer musicians range in age from 18 to 96 and serve our community as teachers, doctors, engineers and first responders, among many other professions.
