This third-generation photographer born and raised in Texas, Kim Hurt moved to Jacksonville after studying sculpture and photography at the Abilene Christian University and teaching at the Texas State Technical College in Brownwood.
Through photography and her recent cyanotype work, Hurt invites viewers to look inward and reflect on purity, nature, isolation, and the desire for connection. Using one of the earliest photographic printing processes, she preserves the life around her, particularly the botanical diversity she encounters while exploring North Florida parks.
