MOCA Studio Practice: Layered Abstraction with Lily Kuonen
MOCA Jax hosts this workshop for adults led by a local artist.
Layered Abstraction is a hands-on workshop where participants will explore drawing, painting, and collage as tools to deconstruct and reimagine visual space. Through guided exercises and experimentation, artists will investigate how abstraction can fragment depth, flatten perspective, and re-layer the surface to create dynamic compositions through contrast, texture, and shape relationships. Participants will learn to combine intentional mark-making with spontaneous gestures bridging structure and improvisation. This workshop encourages creative risk-taking and play while providing strategies for developing cohesive, compelling abstract artworks.
