Frank H. Peterson Career & Automotive Showcase
Frank H. Peterson will host their annual Career Academy and Automotive Showcase on Saturday, February 3rd. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will provide activities and events for visitors. The car show will feature many different makes and models of cars. Peterson’s Automotive Academy will host this portion of the showcase.
The Automotive Academy welcomes various categories for the car show: classic, antiques, American, imports, lifted truck, lowered truck and street rods. This event is rain or shine as the cars will be showcased in the school bays or under awnings, so visitors and participants will stay dry during the day. There are prizes for first and second place as well as best in show. The cost to enter is $25, cash only. Those interested in the car show can call 377-6093. Also, the Career Academy Showcase will provide tours for prospective students or interested individuals. Peterson’s student ambassadors will take visitors on tours of each academy and the school itself. In addition to the car show and tours, the academies will have activities for visitors.
The Robotics Academy will be sharing robot demonstrations. The Cosmetology Academy will be open for basic services such as facials, manicures and fairy hair. Peterson’s Art Classes will be hosting their annual art show featuring students’ work. The Agriscience Academy will have a petting zoo and hayrides. This year, the Early Childhood Academy will be hosting activities and childcare for small children so parents can enjoy the car show and tours. For those who plan to stay for the day, the Culinary Academy will open the Wright Place Restaurant, located on the FHP campus, or the grille for quick lunches.
