K9 Competition

K9s United, a Jacksonville-based nonprofit dedicated to advocating for and supporting K9 law enforcement officers, will host its annual Law Enforcement K9 Competition on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Bishop Kenny High School Athletic Complex, located at 1055 Kingman Ave. in Jacksonville. In its second year, the competition will showcase the remarkable skills of police dogs that protect and serve their communities and offer families a fun-filled day of activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the fearless dogs in action as K9 law enforcement teams from across the state of Florida compete in a timed obstacle course to showcase their impressive speed, strength and skills through various exercises. Awards will be presented to the top three K9 competitors in each category – fastest, hardest hitting and obstacle course – and an overall Top Dog will be crowned at the conclusion of the event. During the competition, attendees can meet and mingle with the Jacksonville’s Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit and SWAT Team, as well as take photos with K9s that protect and serve local communities. Attendees can also enjoy engaging activities, including a rock-climbing wall and inflatable games, along with food and beverages from popular food trucks and more. Tickets are $5 for adults, and attendees 18 and under are free. Pets are not permitted to attend the competition. Tickets can be purchased in advance or upon entry; parking is complimentary. All proceeds will benefit K9s United to help fulfill the nonprofit’s mission to support working law enforcement K9s.
