Beaches Town Center Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration
BEACHES TOWN CENTER, FL - The Beaches Town Center Agency (BTCA) is proud to announce the successful
completion of its inaugural Christmas Surfboards Artist Contest, with 13 talented local artists selected to
create unique holiday-themed surfboard artworks. The new artwork will complement the “Season of
Lights” holiday decor within the Central Business District of Atlantic & Neptune Beach called Beaches
Town Center.
Following the July announcement of the contest, the BTCA received an overwhelming response from
Jacksonville area artists. The selected artists surfboards have been painted and are now installed
throughout the Beaches Town Center, transforming the area into a vibrant holiday showcase for locals
and visitors to enjoy. The BTCA continues to enhance the CBD, by celebrating local art and community
spirit.
The artists will be recognized at the Tree Lighting and Holiday Celebration, scheduled for December 7th.
The surfboards are now on display throughout Beaches Town Center.

President. "Each surfboard tells a unique story of our community's creativity and holiday spirit."
Glenn Shuck, BTCA Board Member, added, "The artists worked very hard over the last few months, and

Saturday, December 7th
3 pm to 6:30 pm
This FREE holiday event will be held where Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach meet the beach. Jump on
the hayride and join in the activities set up throughout Beaches Town Center!
Activities begin at 3:00 pm:
• Make your own & take it home craft tables for all ages
• Community Performers
• Surfboard Artist Recognition, Mayoral Address & Tree Lighting
• Santa meets with the children

The Beaches Town Center Agency is a nonprofit, volunteer board that works for the improvement of the
Atlantic Beach/Neptune Beach Central Business District, preserving the unique character of two
traditional seaside neighborhoods joined by a cultural town center for the enjoyment of residents, visitors
