Discover the ancient wonders of our shoreline with Cheryl Wilson and the Fernandina Fossils team during this special 3rd on 3rd program. From the sands of Amelia Island come extraordinary fossil finds—shark’s teeth, rare fossilized scallop shells and other land and sea mammals, most of which range from 5 to 23 million years old!
Cheryl will guide attendees through highlights from her collection, offering insights into how and where to search for fossils along the island's beaches. Whether you're a budding fossil hunter or simply curious about the past, this evening promises fascinating stories, scientific insight, and plenty of hands-on discovery.
The program will include:
A lively and informative Q&A session
Hands-on interaction with real fossils
Tips and techniques for identifying local finds
Free for museum members; suggested donation of $5 for nonmembers
No reservations required. This program is wheelchair accessible.
