Songwriters Workshop
In Conjunction with our Thursday Night Open Mic and Songwriters Competition We at The Inkwell Art Bar are Thrilled to be having Our First Songwriters Workshop We are Honored to have Brandon Hester, Local Songwriter and All Around Nice guy as our Musical Guru to help us navigate some "LIGHT" Guitar music theory on how to create fun and interesting chord progressions in different styles. (Nothing to crazy so don't be scared..LOL). Coming to Fernandina Beach from Portland Oregon he has studied guitar for 10 years and taught for 5. We are very excited to be having this workshop on the same day that he will be performing with two Amazing Local Musicians, Karl Schlobohm and Honey Decon, ( Yenoh Elleb Nocaed ), after our workshop , so be sure to invite your friends and family to join you after the workshop for what will be a Great Show from 4-7pm.Remember, The Inkwell Art Bar now has Food to complement the variety of beverages available.Your Thursday Night Open Mic Host Joyce Whorton will Host with Brandon. We plan to write a song together during the workshop with everyone brainstorming lyrics and musical composition. We will be having a second workshop on Saturday, September 19th from 2pm-4pm.We invite anyone who wants to hone their songwriting skills to join us for a fun and informative afternoon. You don't have to be strictly a "musician" to join us. Anyone curious about the songwriting process is invited. If you don't currently play an instrument or have written a song before. Don't let that stop you from joining us. There will be plenty of players there to collaborate with.We suggest a $10 Donation to help compensate our Hosts
