Indy Dance Festival

The Indy Dance Council is excited to announce the return of the Indy Dance Festival for its third year, showcasing the art of movement with performances at The Tobias Theatre at Newfields and masterclasses at Butler University on July 19-20. The Indy Dance Festival is a one-of-a-kind event in Indianapolis, inviting the whole community to gather for one weekend to learn, grow, connect, and be inspired together through dance. This year’s performances at The Tobias Theatre include Indianapolis Ballet, Dance Kaleidoscope, Kenyettá Dance Company, 31SVN Street Dance Crew, Crossroads Dance Indy, Seda Negra/Black Silk Dance Company, and more! Local and visiting performers showcase the diverse talent within the city while positioning Indianapolis as an artistic hub for dance organizations from across the country. At Butler University’s Lilly Hall, dancers of all ages and skill levels can immerse themselves in a wide range of workshops and masterclasses in styles such as ballet, contemporary, West African dance, bhangra, and much more (scholarships are available). Free community classes include Ballet & Dance for 50+ Movers, Dance for Unique Abilities hosted by Benefits of Learning Dance (B.O.L.D.), and a kids movement workshop hosted by Kids Dance Outreach. The entire community is also invited to participate in free Lunch & Learn Panel Discussions held both days at Lilly Hall. Registration for these classes can be found online. Visit our website and follow @indydancecouncil on Instagram for the latest updates, including the full schedule of performances, masterclasses, and panels.
