My name is Christopher McDonald and I'm the Founder of the Shelbyville Fandom Convention happening in Shelbyville, Indiana, on August 8th from 2-10pm. Here is some information on the event: For the first time in history, the heart of Shelbyville is breaking the mold of traditional indoor comic conventions. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the public Town Square will transform into an open-air celebration for Shelbyville Fandom Con—expecting between 3,000 and 5,000 fans from across the Midwest. Designed as an inclusive, family-friendly gathering, the festival brings community members together outdoors to celebrate stories, art, and pop culture. Admission is kept accessible at $20 for adults, $10 for kids 10 and under, and free for toddlers 2 and under. Visual & Broadcast Coverage Opportunities: Iconic Movie Vehicles: On-site full-scale Ecto-1 replica (Ghostbusters) and a custom-built Iron Man Dodge Charger. Gaming Royalty & Legendary Talent: Live interviews available with: Daniel Pesina (Original actor for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, and Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat) Carlos Pesina (Original actor for Raiden in Mortal Kombat) Jeff Brennan (Legendary animator for The Simpsons, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Spider-Man) Rupert Boneham (Survivor fan favorite and community leader) Podcasters from The High Ground and The Goosebumps Crew. Live Costumed Fan Meetups & Cosplay: Continuous outdoor fan meetups featuring hundreds of costumed attendees across major franchises (Fallout, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Anime, Comics, and Horror). Live Music & Stage Shows: Performances by Elvis tribute artist Ron Hobbs, classic rock tribute band Peace Cats, local DJs, stand-up comedy, and the Shelbyville’s Got Talent live showcase.
