Mount Auburn Church’s seventh annual Touch-a-Truck returns Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free community event gives children the opportunity to explore public safety vehicles, construction equipment, farm machinery, remote-controlled airplanes, antique engines, and more. A military helicopter is also scheduled to appear.
A quiet hour will be offered from 10 to 11 a.m. for guests who prefer a lower-sensory experience.
Each child will receive a plastic hard hat and can participate in a scavenger hunt to earn a special Touch-a-Truck T-shirt while supplies last. Additional activities will include face painting, snow cones provided by the Boy Scouts, and a Pinewood Derby track hosted by the Cub Scouts.
Admission, food, and drinks are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food donation for the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County and Lord’s Locker in Trafalgar.
No registration is required. Families may arrive at any time during the event.
