An Archival Roadshow: Inspired Education
One day with a great teacher is better than a thousand days of diligent study. This moving film program introduces eight unique, inspiring teachers, educational programs, and the students they impact. This selection of films includes the restored 1985 short film "The Masters of Disaster", which was nominated for an Academy Award and features students from the Indianapolis Public School 27 as well as "The Moving Image: Super 8", highlighting high school student filmmakers from North Manchester, Indiana.
NOTE: Doors open at 6:00pm for interactive demonstrations of 16mm film handling equipment with trained film archivists. The screening will be introduced by curators Jennifer and Jon Vickers and followed by a Q&A with members of the 1985 Masters of Disaster Indianapolis student chess team.
