9th Hoagie Eating Contest and Hoagies & Hops 10 Year Anniversary
The family-friendly celebration will feature live music by the HiDives, Rita’s Water Ice, a tie-dye t-shirt station and more.
Annually, Hoagies and Hops hosts a hoagie-eating contest to raise money for local nonprofit organization, HVAF of Indiana, which helps homeless and at-risk
veterans return to self-sufficiency. Challengers compete to see who can eat an 18-inch Italian hoagie the fastest. The winner will receive one free 18-inch cheesesteak per month for a year, a custom hoagie platter designed by Pottery by You and bragging rights. Entry fee is $25 per person and 100% will be donated to HVAF.
In addition to the entry fee, Hoagies and Hops will donate 10 percent of food and Chilly Water Brewing beer sales from the day to HVAF. The eatery will also collect nonperishable food items for the Boulevard Place Food Pantry.
