In honor of Earth Day, The Yard at Fishers District, a mixed-used dining, retail, entertainment and residential development just outside Indianapolis in Fishers, Indiana (https://yardatfishersdistrict.com), will host a shoe drive from April 22nd to May 22nd to benefit Changing Footprints, a Central Indiana nonprofit that collects and distributes new and gently used shoes to homeless, disaster-stricken, or underprivileged people locally, nationally, and internationally. Changing Footprints donates 80% of the shoes it collects to local residents and another 15% are jointly used to respond to natural disasters in the US and given to those in need in 38 countries abroad. The remaining 5% of shoes collected are converted into playground materials by Nike Grind. Guests of The Yard at Fishers District are encouraged to donate shoes in any size or condition to this worthy cause, which helps people in need and prevents shoes from ending up in local landfills. Donation bins will be located at Athletic Annex and in the office at The Mark. Those who bring their shoes to be donated at The Mark will receive a reusable Ikea bag free of charge (while supplies last). To learn more, visit https://bit.ly/3U7QhtU.
