The Hoosier Lottery St. Patrick’s Day Kickoff Celebration
The Downtown Indianapolis Canal is going green! For the 29th time the Indianapolis Athletic Club Foundation, in partnership with the Hoosier Lottery, will be turning the Downtown Indy Canal green as a kickoff to St. Patrick’s Day festivities in the Circle City. The greening of the canal is significant to Irish Heritage in Indianapolis as many Irish immigrants worked to build the original canal in the 1800s. Join the 2025 Irish Citizen of the Year, local dignitaries and representatives from our police, fire and school systems in celebrating the holiday. Food trucks will be available. Attendees can also enjoy free entertainment including performances by Irish dancers, bands and bagpipers.
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public, Thursday, March 13 from 5-6 p.m. It will also be live-streamed on Facebook.
