This year, we're turning our focus to the unsung heroes of Houston's bayous: the tributaries and smaller waterways. These crucial channels sustain the diverse ecosystem of our bayou system, ensuring that both the wildlife and communities thrive. Like these essential waterways, Bayou Preservation thrives on focused, impactful efforts: we prioritize local initiatives that directly benefit Houston communities.
We are thrilled to announce Carrigan Chauvin, CW39 Houston's meteorologist and traffic anchor, will join us as the emcee for Bayou Preservation’s Into the Wild Gala! Originally from neighboring Louisiana and now a vibrant part of the Houston community, Carrigan brings her unique perspective and expertise in weather science to our event.
Immerse yourself in a captivating atmosphere where themed decor and entertaining activities will transport you to the heart of the wilderness. Meet fellow conservation enthusiasts, indulge in delicious food and drinks, participate in an exciting game of bingo with a nature twist, and learn about the diverse tapestry of life thriving in our city's tributaries and waterways. Unleash your wild side (it's optional!) by sporting your most creative interpretation of wilderness formal attire. Plus, don't miss our exciting game of bingo, where you could win an amazing mystery grand prize from Dirt Bag plant store!
Our mission is to be accessible to the communities we serve and make our event affordable for a wider audience this year, ensuring that everyone can join us in celebrating and supporting our vital mission. All proceeds from "Into the Wild" gala will directly support our ongoing efforts to protect and restore Houston's tributary ecosystems. Your participation directly supports our fight to make a big difference for the “smaller” corners of Houston's wildlife and communities.
