The purpose of this retreat is to increase our life-span, wisdom, and good-fortune by engaging in the practice of Buddha Amitayus. It is a tradition to do this retreat at the beginning of a new year.
Buddha taught a special method to increase our wisdom, good fortune, and life span. This method is presented in the prayers The Yoga of Buddha Amitayus. Our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, will explain this practice over the course of three sessions and guide meditations. Although the prayers are essentially the same in each session, the meditations are unique. For this reason, we recommend people plan to attend all three sessions. Still, even if you can only attend one session, you will benefit from participating in this retreat.
Session 1 ~ 11 – 12:30pm
Potluck 12:30 – 2pm
Session 2 ~ 2 – 3:30pm
Session 3 ~ 4 – 5:30pm
OSG 6:30 – 8:30pm

We are a non-profit organization. We have class fees to cover expenses such as rent for a commercial space. The payments for each class allow us to fulfill our mission. Still, we try to keep these fees to a minimum to allow everyone to participate and never turn anyone away if they cannot afford it.
Free parking is available in the lot behind the Center and on the surrounding neighborhood streets.
