A Chat with Houston Jujutsu & Kickboxing Academy
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a non-commercial, combat oriented Martial Art school. We offer classes in Japanese Jujutsu, Judo, Kickboxing, MMA & Weapons training. We specialize in training the beginner and turning them into a martial artist with personalized instructions.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
When my teachers in the second grade asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, that question was simple - BRUCE LEE. As the main instructor at the school I have studied and earned Black Belts in many arts, so when students come to our school they are getting an “Education” in the martial arts.
What do you love most about your job?
When I am teaching the martial arts, it’s not just a job, but a exploration into the Human Mind and Body - there is never a dull moment. I have been in the arts since the early 80’s, myself as the instructor am always learning as well, so the student is never bored with doing the same thing over and over.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
We help the student discover their “weaknesses” and help them to not only know their “strengths”, but to accelerate them to their advantage.
