Experienced optometrist first examines the condition of patients’ eyes and then provides them with prescription towards proper eyewear
Optometrists examine the eyes to determine if there are any concerns regarding vision. This can include reading letters from a board that gradually reduce in size, checking the reflexes according to PERRLA (Pupils Equal and Round; Reactive to Light; and Accommodation (Direct and Consensual)), mobility of the eyeballs (do they move swiftly while tracing a moving object? Do they jump?), and looking for signs of strabismus (mismatched eye sight direction (one of the eyes strays or looks completely different way from the other)).
