Mele Hali‘a Showcase at Waikiki Beach Walk
Mele Hali‘a features the finest in Hawaiian musical entertainment by some of Hawai‘i’s most exceptional, award-winning artists on one special Sunday each month. All performances are open and free of charge.
The showcase on January 12 will feature Greg Sardinha, an accomplished multi instrumentalist, proficient on guitar and ukulele, but known as master of the Hawaiian steel guitar. His music genre is classic Hawaiian as well as contemporary Hawaiian “local style” music. He will perform with his trio, Po‘okela.
Greg is best known for perpetuating 20th century Hawaiian music as a master of Hawaiian steel guitar. His ability to adapt the Hawaiian steel guitar to a diverse group of musical styles such as traditional Hawaiian, contemporary Hawaiian, reggae, country rock and folk, has led to his contributions to over 100 recording projects with a variety of Hawaii's top recording artists as both a session musician and producer.
Mele Hali‘a happens at the Waikiki Beach Walk Plaza Stage from 5 to 6 p.m. on the second or third Sunday of each month.
