Donate Blood, Be the Heartbeat of Special Olympics Hawaii
This summer, you can be a champion for local athletes AND give the gift of life by donating blood. For every blood donation made from June 1 through August 31 at any Blood Bank of Hawaii drive or facility across the state, Blood Bank of Hawaii will make a donation to our organization that will help our Special Olympics Hawaii athletes train and compete free of charge. Even better: you’ll be providing life-saving blood during the critical summer period when blood donations typically drop by as much as 15 percent. The Blood Bank of Hawaii needs up to 200 donors every day to maintain the state’s blood supply and just one donation can save up to three lives. Your support will double the impact by helping two nonprofits dedicated to serving the Hawaii community. To attend a blood drive near you, you can schedule your appointment at bbh.org.
Additionally, Special Olympics Hawaii will be hosting two blood drive events at our Special Olympics Hawaii Sports and Wellness Center (91-610 Maunakapu Street, Ewa Beach, HI 96706) on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, August 25, both from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. To participate in our June 29 Blood Drive, visit bit.ly/sohijune29.
