The parade features a vibrant mix of floats, marching bands, community groups, and keiki participants. Kainalu Dr. will be closed to traffic at 9:00 AM. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and to bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Parking is available on surrounding streets as well as in Kailua Town
Justin Cruz of KHON2 will emcee the event from a stage fronting The Hope Center Ministries where a panel of community judges will be selecting standout entries in the following categories:
Best Overall Float
Best Marching Unit
Best Keiki-Centric Float
Best Representation of Theme "Waves of Aloha"
Most Patriotic
“Our Independence Day Parade is a beloved Kailua tradition, and we invite the entire community to join us in celebrating the Fourth of July with aloha,” said Kailua Chamber President Rebecca Cummings. “The ‘Waves of Aloha’ theme is a tribute to the way our community shows up for one another with heart, hope, and aloha spirit.”
Ron Sargent, owner of Baci Bistro in Kailua, will serve as parade Grand Marshal. Baci Bistro is renowned for its authentic Italian cuisine as well as its support for local vendors and the community. The Sargent family is committed to giving back, donating generously to many non-profits, schools, and other organizations.“We are so proud to be part of this amazing community and the Independence Day Parade,” said Ron. “Our team at Baci Bistro loves supporting our community and seeing generations of families come in to our restaurant.”
