Make Music Jamms with Gwen Takeuchi & the Kupuna Tradition Group
The Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame, in partnership with Make Music Hawaii, hosts a free monthly concert on the 21st of each month to celebrate Hawaiian musicians. The concert series, entitled Make Music Jamms, is held on the stage at the new Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame exhibit on the second level of the Nā Lama Kukui Lifestyle and Design Center. In addition to the concert, audience members can walk through the Koa paneled exhibit and enjoy learning about past inductees into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.
This month’s group KUPUNA TRADITION GROUP was founded during Covid by Gwen Takeuchi, Greg Austin, and Mike Enos, a group of ukulele builders wanting to create the vibe that brings grace to Hawaiian style music. Kanikapila brought this trio of ukulele players together along with Vernon Rosa on Bass, and John Keaulana on Vibes.
This performance will be live streamed on the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Facebook page and will be posted on their website, social media outlets and YouTube Channel to be enjoyed anytime.
