All are welcome to participate in this special Library Pen Pal program between the Waiʻanae and Kaimukī Public Libraries. Connect with others from across the island and make new friends, learn about a different community, practice your writing and reading skills and have fun creating and receiving hand-written mail! Check out some of these interesting pen pal facts! Did you know that the world record for longest-lasting pen pal friendship was 83 years? And did you know that the rapper Tupac and actor Tony Danza were pen pals? Program Dates: January 2 - Participants able to sign up for the program January 21 – January 24- Participants may pick up their pen pal kits from the Reference Desk. January 21-April 1, 2025 - Duration of pen pal program. Mailout Dates: February 11th March 4th March 25th April 1st Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity should contact library staff as soon as possible.
