HONORING EDDIE AIKAU: BIG WAVE SURFERS GATHER AT KA MAKANA ALIʻI
T&C Surf, in collaboration with the Eddie Aikau Foundation, is proud to host an exclusive meet-and-greet event featuring invitees and alternates of the prestigious Rip Curl Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational.
The special event will take place January 17, from 5:00–6:30 p.m. at Ka Makana Aliʻi. Fans will have a rare opportunity to connect with some of the world’s most accomplished big-wave surfers, celebrate the enduring legacy of Eddie Aikau, and experience the true spirit of aloha.

About the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational
Held at the legendary Waimea Bay on Oʻahu’s North Shore, the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational honors the legacy of Eddie Aikau—a revered Native Hawaiian waterman, lifeguard, and big-wave pioneer whose life embodied courage, selflessness, and aloha. The event runs only when wave heights reach a minimum of 20 feet on the Hawaiian scale (40-foot faces), making it one of the most exclusive and anticipated surf competitions in the world.
The 2024 competition, called on December 22, 2024, was broadcast globally and drew more than 2 million views from 195 countries. Hawaiʻi surfer and musician Landon McNamara claimed victory, earning $50,000, 350,000 Hawaiian Airlines miles, and an additional 250,000 miles for Best Wave.
Through events like this meet-and-greet, the legacy of Eddie Aikau continues—bringing the global surf community together to celebrate bravery, commitment, and the spirit of aloha.
