About Jikoen Cha Cha Cha:
"Cha" is the Japanese word for tea, and tea has been enjoyed by people worldwide for centuries. In many cultures, tea is considered a symbol of hospitality and a way to bring people together. In many parts of the world, sharing a cup of tea is seen as a way to socialize, bond, and connect with others.
Jikoen Hongwanji presents a four-part series of tea events for 2023
The Tea Ceremony will be presented by Hideko Watanabe Sensei of the Hideko Watanabe Shu Wakari and she will be assisted by her students who will share their tea style originating from the Urasenke tradition. Urasenke is a traditional tea ceremony style from Japan that has been passed down through generations for over 400 years. Urasenke emphasizes the importance of harmony, respect, and purity in the tea ceremony. The tea ceremony is seen as a way to cultivate mindfulness, tranquility, and appreciation for the simple things in life.
