2024 Hawaiʻi Law Enforcement Memorial Remembrance and Installation Ceremony
The 2024 Hawaiʽi Law Enforcement Memorial Remembrance and Installation Ceremony will remember and honor Hawai'i Law Enforcement Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their community and add the names of law enforcement officers from the Honolulu Police Department, Hawaiʽi Police Department, and the State of Hawaiʽi Department of Law Enforcement.
At this year’s ceremony, several names from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s will be added to the Memorial, including Richard Neville, believed to be the first recorded Deputy Sheriff killed in the line of duty. Additionally, Honolulu Police Officer Bill Sapolu who died in 2023 from injuries from a motorcycle accident while responding to a weapons call will also be honored.
