All are invited to experience Hawaiʻi Youth Symphony (HYS) in a new way at its upcoming Music & Mimosas fundraiser at the Halekulani Hotel’s Hau Terrace on Sunday, January 18, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. The elevated event will offer brunch, breakfast cocktails and live performances by ʻukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, renowned violinist and Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Iggy Jang, and the talented jazz and classical students of HYS.
Proceeds from this exclusive event support the Pacific Music Institute (PMI), HYS’s week-long summer intensive that provides students with world-class music education right here in the islands. PMI offers young musicians the opportunity to work with renowned faculty, develop advanced skills and experience the joy of collaborative music-making. Funds help to keep PMI accessible to keiki statewide, ensuring that a passion for music—not a zip code or budget—determines who gets to participate. The next PMI will be held in Honolulu from July 3-12, 2026.
Tickets are limited, so attendees are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible. To purchase or learn more, visit hiyouthsymphony.org/music-mimosas-2026/.
