Hawaiʻi’s Broadway of the Pacific, Diamond Head Theatre, presents the Tony Award–winning musical West Side Story for a limited engagement, March 13 through April 5 (with a possible extension).
Since its groundbreaking 1957 Broadway debut, this iconic production has captivated audiences with its unforgettable score and timeless story of love, prejudice, and cultural conflict. A modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story follows Tony and Maria—two young lovers torn between rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, on the streets of 1950s New York City. As their romance deepens, tensions rise in a world on the brink.
A cornerstone of musical theatre history, West Side Story first appeared on the Diamond Head Theatre stage during the 1961–62 season. More than six decades later, it returns with the passion, music, and drama that made it a legend.
