As part of ANA’s commitment to celebrating the culture and music of Japan and Hawaiʻi, the 2024 ANA ʻAha Mele will continue to feature Cliburn Gold Award-winning pianist NOBUYUKI TSUJII in an intimate solo concert with brunch at the Blue Note Hawaii located in the Outrigger Waikiki at 2335 Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki.
Blind since birth, Tsujii is one of classical music’s most enthralling virtuosos, interpreting classic and modern compositions with a genius that is truly emotive and heartfelt. Since winning the joint Gold Medal at the 2009 Cliburn International Piano Competition – the first-ever win for a Japanese pianist - Tsujii’s career has spanned the globe, featuring appearances with Russia’s Mariinsky Orchestra, U.K.’s Philharmonia Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, Munich’s Münchner Philharmoniker, Milan’s Filarmonica della Scala and Switzerland’s Sinfonieorchester Basel. He has performed under the baton of conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vladimir Spivakov, Juanjo Mena and Vasily Petrenko.
