Created in partnership with the Hawaii LEGO® Users Group (HILUG) and middle school students from across the state, this original, family-friendly exhibition brings together culture and creativity through dynamic models, original artwork, and hands-on experiences. From beloved landmarks to native species and legendary tales, the exhibition highlights the people, places, plants, animals, and stories that shape Hawaiʻi.
Highlights include a Middle School Mascot Mosaic Gallery representing 50 schools statewide; mini-figure scale models of Hawaiian landmarks such as Aloha Tower and the Arizona Memorial, along with a Pasha Hawaii container ship and the Hawaiian Airlines fleet through the decades; and large-scale sculptures of endemic species including the humuhumunukunukuapua‘a, kalo, and the Kamehameha butterfly. Guests can also experience a “Tales of Maui” installation, 2D mosaics inspired by flora and fauna researched by Bishop Museum scientists, and interactive elements like a 10-foot wave and Free Play Zone that invite visitors of all ages to build and imagine.
