LeaLea Charity Run 5K – Race for the Reef!
[Event Highlights]
- Fun and inclusive: Open to anyone aged 7 and older—runners, joggers, and walkers alike are welcome.
- Course: A simple and picturesque loop around Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach Park.
- Student-friendly pricing: Reduced registration fee for participants under age 21, with additional group discounts for student teams of 10 or more.
[Charity & Conservation]
100% of entry fees will go directly to the Waikīkī Aquarium, supporting the renovation of the beloved Edge of the Reef exhibit to enhance marine education and conservation.
[Fun Extras & Community Impact]
- Luxurious Prizes & Awards: Top three male and female overall finishers receive medals and grand prizes (e.g., a two-night Waikīkī hotel stay, dinner for two). Age-group winners also earn medals and prizes.
- All participants receive: A special sports towel and post-race refreshments featuring local foods.
- Post-Race Beach Cleanup: Follow the run with a short beach cleanup at Ala Moana Beach Park—an opportunity to Mālama Hawaiʻi and give back to the community.

Why Participate?
This year’s event marks the return of a beloved annual tradition after the pandemic break. Since its start in 2011 (to support Tohoku recovery efforts), the LeaLea Charity Run has strengthened ties between Hawaii and Japan through community support. Now, it's back to champion marine conservation and foster aloha spirit—through running, caring, and connection.
