Kalia Vandever & Jessica Ackerley Concert
FREE SHOW! A Lunar New Year evening of sublime sounds from two stellar solo performers. Both artists will perform original work exploring the sonic boundaries of Ambient, Jazz, Electronic, and beyond.
@kalia.vandever is an American trombonist and composer living in Brooklyn, NY. Her debut solo album, “We Fell In Turn” featuring her works for trombone, voice and electronics released on AKP Records in March, 2023. She has toured globally with her quartet and collaborated with notable artists like Harry Styles, Lizzo, and Demi Lovato.
@jessica_ackerley is a Canadian guitarist, improviser and composer based in Honolulu and a current PhD candidate at University of Hawai’i. Her musical influences range from Black American Music, avant-garde improvisers, and the culture of the thriving New York City rock and noise scenes. Ackerley has toured extensively performing at noteworthy venues to countless underground house basements and record shops.
