Out Of Many: A Celebration of Caribbean Art

Don't miss the Opening Reception & Artist Celebration on Saturday, June 14, from 5:00-6:30 PM, featuring live performances by the Hartford-based Caribbean American Dance Company, followed by a community gathering at Long Gut Miss Pinny's Jamaican Restaurant across the street. What Makes This Exhibit Special Co-curated by Natasha Samuels and Robert Cooper Jr. and beautifully hung by artist and Gallery Coordinator, Lucy LeBohec, OUT OF MANY was inspired by the colorful traditional costumes of Rev. Dr. Janice Hart. The exhibit goes beyond typical gallery walls to create an immersive cultural experience. "This is more than an art exhibit—it's a powerful expression of identity, pride, resilience, and joy," said Dr. Stacey Zackin, Gallery Manager. "The work is breathtaking, moving, and sparks curiosity to learn more." Co-curator Samuels explains: "I conceived this exhibit to bring Caribbean community members together - celebrating our shared heritage while honoring the unique ways we each express it. Through fine art, sculpture, fashion, music, and food, OUT OF MANY reflects both our unity and our individuality." (1 of 2) Co-curator Cooper adds: "As an African-American I have been fascinated with Caribbean art and culture for much of my life. It is with great pleasure that I am curating this exhibit with my good friend Natasha and highlighting the great talent we have in the area."
