Itching for Spring and Baseball?
You can’t “fast-forward” the calendar, but you can cozy up to some fascinating baseball history with Presidents’ College Lifelong Learning. University of Hartford President Emeritus Walter Harrison, with his encyclopedic knowledge of baseball, and legal scholar and Professor David Goldenberg will team up to discuss the “Reserve Clause,” which locked a player into one team. Get the play-by-play on how Curt Flood, a Black St. Louis Cardinals All-Star, challenged the status quo right up to the Supreme Court, leading to the advent of free agency.
