College Sports: What Went Wrong & How to Fix It
We see the headlines about million-dollar Name, Image, & Likeness (NIL) deals and constant transfers, but what’s happening behind the scenes at the university level? Walter Harrison, President Emeritus of the University of Hartford and the former chair of the NCAA Board of Governors, will discuss how we got here, using examples from multiple sports, including women’s sports and Olympic sports.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a critic of the new “free agency” model, you’ll enjoy this three-part series dissecting the business of modern athletics. The final session will consider what needs to be done and will include some big-time experts joining the lively classroom discussion via Zoom.
