Burning Bridget Cleary, an award-winning Celtic band from the Philadelphia region, will perform a St. Patrick's Day / CD Release Party / 10th Band Anniversary Concert at the Musikfest Cafe at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, PA. The date is Thursday, March 17th. Showtime is 7:30.
The band's new release, "These Are the Days," just took the #1 Top Album spot on the January Folk-DJ charts. Music Connection magazine pens, "the whole enterprise unites to generate a life force that can uplift the listener at every turn" FolkWords reviewer, Tim Carroll, writes, "Vibrant, vivacious, infectious and captivating, 'These Are the Days' spans the depth of melodic, Celtic tradition yet sits comfortably within its undeniably eclectic mix.
Band-leader, Rose Baldino, shared her thoughts about creating the new CD:
"In the making of our last few albums, and especially 'These are the Days,' we wanted to increase the complexity of our arrangements and create something that we can look back on and feel genuinely proud. Considering I was 16 when our first album came out, we've come a long way, and I'm sure people who have followed us since the beginning would feel the same! I love the energy and feel of this project. "
Since 2006, Burning Bridget Cleary has earned a solid reputation for presenting high-energy Celtic music at festivals, concerts, and music series all over the eastern half of the USA, including a 2011 tour to Ireland. While in Ireland, the band had a unique opportunity to visit the rural County Tipperary cottage of their namesake, Bridget Cleary, who is remembered as 'the last witch burned in Ireland'.
Tickets are $12-18 advance / $15-20 day of show.
