The Communication, Film, and Theatre Department & Art Gallery are proud to present Unfolding! Unfolding is a contemporary fairy tale that magically transports the audience through space and time, capturing the journey of a woman as she navigates a life of self-discovery. A puppet theatre production, Unfolding weaves together nostalgic youth and covetable wisdom to explore themes of female wisdom and empowerment, using moving performance and puppetry, shadow imagery, unique design, exquisitely hand-crafted puppets, and poignant original live music. Unfolding was created with the support of The Jim Henson Foundation. The show has been performed at festivals and venues in the U.S. (including the 2017 National Puppetry Festival), Bulgaria, and Turkey (funded by The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation US Artists International Program). In spring 2019, the show was performed at The Tank in NYC to a great critical and audience acclaim. Most recently, Unfolding was performed at the Pesta Boneka festival, in Yogyakarta, and toured central Java on a tour organized by the American Embassy in Indonesia. Unfolding will be presented in the DelMonte Bernstein Studio Theater on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30pm and Thursday, March 28 at 5:30pm.
