SWCA Presents Cellist Jacqueline Choi in Concert April 2nd


On Sunday, April 2, 2023, South Windsor Cultural Arts will feature cellist Jacqueline Choi in concert. Dr. Choi is a pioneering cellist, chamber musician, and educator applauded as “an emerging star” by The Boston Globe. Dr. Choi completed her BM degree at the New England Conservatory, MM degree at The Juilliard School, and earned her DMA degree at the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Clive Greensmith, Timothy Eddy, Paul Katz, and Michael Reynolds. She has appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Brockton and Allentown Symphonies, New England Philharmonic, and Bucheon Philharmonic among others, while her solo performances brought her to New York’s Alice Tully Hall, John F. Kennedy Center, Boston’s Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall, Musée du Louvre, Jerusalem Music Center, Mozarteum Brasileiro, and Seoul Arts Center. The program will include Beethoven’s “7 Variations on “Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen” from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in E-flat major, WoO 46; Franz Liszt’s “"O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst", S. 298, “Enfant, si j'étais roi”, S. 283, and “Oh! quand je dors”, S. 282; Debussy’s “Sonate pour violoncelle et piano”, L. 135; and Rachmaninoff’s “Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano”, Op. 19. The concert starts at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Crossings Retirement Community, 900 Hemlock Ave, South Windsor, CT. Seating begins at 1:30 and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
